Je ne cherche pas dans ma démarche artistique à créer des objets « utiles » et sans défauts. Ce qui m’intéresse est de mettre en valeur le bois et de transmettre ma sensibilité aux gens à travers les pièces que je réalise. Le fait qu’un bol soit percé, fendu, ne me gêne en rien, au contraire, cela reste une matière naturelle, et cet aspect nous révèle à quel point la nature est belle.
L’artisan, Elie Weissbeck
Né en 1993 à Sélestat en Alsace, je commence le tournage sur bois en 2013 avec l’acquisition d’un petit tour d’établi, et la succession de plusieurs stages auprès de tourneurs professionnel reconnus (Henri Kuntz, Hubert Landri, Joseph Deronzier).
J’entreprends ensuite un CAP ébénisterie en 2015 au lycée des arts du bois à Moirans en montagne dans le Jura.
Rapidement captivé par cet art et depuis toujours intéressé par cette matière noble qu’est le bois, je me passionne pour l’univers du bois, son travail et toute sa filière, de la récolte en forêt au meuble fini. Ma passion pour le bois, et mon regard artistique sur les courbes, les textures, les effets de matières, me poussent à persévérer et à toujours rechercher plus de technicité.
J’ouvre mon entreprise fin 2016 après avoir passé 1 an au sein de l’entreprise Schreck Fères, dans laquelle Baptiste Schreck m’a transmis son amour du métier, sa démarche esthétique et sa finesse technique.
Je déménage mon entreprise en 2016 dans la Drôme à Chabrillan, où je monte mon premier atelier, achète mes premières machines et commence à constituer mon stock.
Durant 7 ans, 4 apprentis se succèdent et m’épaulent au quotidien dans la fabrication et l’installation de nos nombreux projets.
En 2022, j’achète un grand atelier de 500m² sur la commune de Bourdeaux. C’est un grand changement, car nous pouvons à présent avoir un volume de stockage beaucoup plus important, et agrandir notre parc machines, composé des machines à bois traditionnelles (scie à format, raboteuse, dégauchisseuse, scie à ruban, mortaiseuse, ponceuse calibreuse, ponceuse longue bande, toupie), mais aussi de machines innovantes, comme une presse à membre pour le travail du placage, de la marqueterie, et le cintrage par la technique du lamellés collés.
Nous avons également investi dans une presse à briquettes, qui nous permet de revaloriser nos déchets (poussières, copeaux) en buchettes destinées au chauffage.
L’équipe est actuellement composée de 2 personnes, avec l’appui fréquent de Mona Barret, ancienne apprentie de l’entreprise et qui travaille au sein de l’atelier.
